My gateways

The gateways you can connect to in Open MCP Portal, why you have access, what each offers you, and its connect snippets.

My gateways (in the sidebar's Workspace section) lists every gateway you can connect your AI clients to. Each offers you only the tools, prompts and resources you may use.

The list

Each gateway shows its name, description, how many capabilities it offers you right now and why you have access:

BadgeMeans
Member of <team>A team gateway of a team you're on
Granted to your teamA platform gateway granted to one of your teams
Granted to youA platform gateway granted to you by name
Granted to your SSO groupA platform gateway granted to one of your identity provider's groups (the badge names it)

Platform gateways also carry a Platform gateway badge. Records what you send means calls through it may be recorded with their arguments and results: the gateway records them, or the server of at least one capability it offers you does. See Recording call contents.

A gateway that is turned off, or whose team is archived, isn't listed. If you expected a gateway and don't see it, ask the team's owners or admins, or a platform admin for platform gateways.

Group grants use the groups your identity provider sent at your last sign-in; your Profile lists them. If your groups changed, sign out and in again.

A gateway's page

Open a gateway to see:

  • Connect: the endpoint URL and snippets for Claude Code, VS Code, Cursor and curl. Name in your client changes the name the snippets give the gateway; Use an API key instead switches to the header variants. See Connect your AI client.
  • What it offers you: the capabilities you can use right now, with the names clients see: {server-slug}__{name} for tools and prompts, omp://{server-slug}/{uri} for resources (a template's {variables} are filled in by the client). Capabilities that need a higher team role than yours, or whose server is unavailable, aren't listed.
  • Accounts it needs: the services some of its tools act on as you, such as GitHub or Google, or MCP servers you sign in to yourself, each Connected or Not connected, with a Connect button. See Connecting accounts.
  • A notice when the gateway records what you send.

Who decides what you see

The gateway's owners choose its capabilities; you see the subset you may use. Every request checks again, so a change takes effect at once: if someone removes a capability, raises its minimum role, unpublishes its server or removes your access, your next call is refused even if your client listed the tool earlier. A refused call looks the same as a call to a tool that doesn't exist (Unknown tool).
